Whist the circumstances described in each case study is accurate the description thereof is appropriately non-descript to protect the privacy of our clients.


Client: Partners in Ownership of Two Franchise Restaurants
Mandate: Performance and Profit Improvement with a view to Increasing the Potential Sale Price of the Businesses

The partnership owners of two busy and successful franchise restaurants approached us to assist in developing a profit improvement process that would grow the net value of their businesses. On examination, we noted that whilst both restaurants were recording good turnover, the bottom line was abysmally poor which had resulted in the inability of the owners to declare a dividend or raise investment capital for further development. At the time of our appointment we were informed that the sale of the business within the next few years was a factor under consideration. The partners expressed a concern that if the current trend was allowed to continue unaddressed they suspected that they would not be able to realize a good sale price.

After conducting a series of diagnostic analysis of the two businesses we implemented a process that would provide the owners with greater control over the key performance indicators (KPI’s) of their business. Key members of staff were included in the initial stages of the improvement process thereby obtaining their important input and valuable knowledge of the business as well as their support for the project.  The key staff members furthermore contributed to the process of identifying the most important KPI’s to be measured. The remaining staff members were also included at appropriate stages of the project thereby gaining inclusivity and overall support for the process.

This process provided the catalyst for a major improvement in profit and performance within the first two to three months. The process continued with improved profits being recorded regularly until the business was satisfactorily sold approximately two years later. As a result of the strategic profit improvement process the final sale price obtained was dramatically improved as a result of the increased business worth.

The owners were so delighted with the outcome that we were consequently approached to assist them establish their new start business.
